Chevrolet Pickup Models

There are three different Chevrolet pickup models available on the market today – the Colorado, Silverado and Avalanche. Each of these Chevrolet pickup models has its own advantages and are great choices for your next pickup truck.

The Colorado is the first and most basic of the Chevrolet pickup models. The Colorado features a Vortec engine, which is a low maintenance engine. The engine can come in a 2.9L I-4 form, which features 185 horsepower and 190 pound feet of torque, and the 3.7L I-5 form, which has 242 horsepower and 242 pound feet of torque. This is generally the lightest and least powerful of the Chevrolet pickup models, but it does not require the high levels of maintenance that are generally needed for larger models. A basic Colorado will cost around fifteen thousand dollars, but you can get a 4x4 Colorado for more money.

The Silverado is the second of the Chevrolet pickup models. This features a more powerful Vortec 6.0L V8 engine. It features around 350 horsepower and Variable Valve Timing, which helps to reduce emissions and makes combustion easier. Its wheels are also large, as they generally start at sixteen inches for the smallest size. Some Silverado models will feature optional diesel engines that have more power and fewer emissions. The lowest price for a Silverado is right below twenty thousand dollars, but models that cost as much as forty thousand dollars are available too.

The Avalanche is the highest end model among all Chevrolet pickup models. It has a Vortec 5.3L V8 engine that has Active Fuel Management. This means that the engine can go from eight cylinders to four and back again with ease according to the driver’s choosing. This means that the car can be efficient and powerful and that less power is needed at times when it is not necessary. Some engines with the Avalanche can take in E85 ethanol oil too.

The Avalanche also has the StabiliTrak system. This compares the car’s steering activity with the response from the truck and uses this to make small brakes to help keep the car under control. This helps to keep the car under control and therefore will prevent it from tipping over. The Avalanche is the most expensive of the Chevrolet pickup models, as it costs around thirty five thousand dollars for a base model.

These are the three Chevrolet pickup models. There are various other features that are included in these Chevrolet pickup models along with some optional features that can be especially useful for some drivers. More information on these models can be found at the official Chevrolet website, Chevrolet.com.
