33-year-old Southeast Portland woman identified as victim of fatal early morning crash on East Burnside
Thirty-three-year-old Shelby Lynn Williams was driving a 2012 Chevy Traverse sports utility vehicle just before 2 a.m. at a speed of roughly 90 miles per hour when she lost control and hit a telephone pole, tree and fence before coming to rest in a yard. Her passenger, 28-year-old Cleveland Nelson, was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Driver dies after 90 mph crash into pole, yards
PORTLAND -- A car struck a power pole near the 148th Avenue MAX stop about 2 a.m., killing one person and sending a second to the hospital. The car was westbound at about 90 mph when it struck the pole, said Sgt. Pete Simpson. The SUV hit a tree and then went through a yard, coming to rest in a second yard. Fatal accident closes East Burnside
