Chevrolet Silverado Z71
Through the last thirty years, I\'ve owned trucks from Ford, Dodge, Nissan, Toyota and Chevrolet. Needless to say, pickup trucks have been a bit of a hobby to me besides a valuable tool for business. I\'ve usually bought a standard trim level which would get the job done without breaking the bank.
Recently I purchased a used 2005 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 pickup truck. It happens to be the sport side version with upgraded features throughout. The Chevrolet Silverado Z71 truck comes equipped with the off road four wheel drive package. The small V-8 provides more then enough power for normal everyday driving in addition to the occasional off road excursion. The sport suspension is not as stiff as one might expect it to be. The highway ride is exceptionally smooth for a pickup truck. I do believe the Chevrolet Silverado Z71 is the best riding and most comfortable pickup I\'ve ever owned.
My family cannot believe the comfort level. The extended cab version provides good comfort for two adults in the rear seat. This is something I never could say about my other pickups. The biggest surprise I\'ve gotten from the Chevrolet Silverado Z71 is the gas consumption. I had hesitated on purchasing an American V-8 due to the expected bad gas mileage. Upon researching the subject, I learned that the six cylinder engines provided with the import trucks really weren\'t that economical. The manufacturers use their small 4 cylinder models to raise their average figures but lets face it, if you use a truck, you might need to haul some weight at some time or another. I live in a fairly mountainous area in the north eastern USA. Even under these conditions, I\'m averaging between 17 and 20 MPG which beats my last Chevy six cylinder.
So if you are looking for a pickup truck, you cannot go wrong with a used Chevrolet Silverado Z71 truck.
